Social Media Soiree: On July 22, Vehicle Vibes, Allstate’s automotive blog, co-sponsored Chicagonista’s Social Media Soiree, a kick-off party prior to the BlogHer Conference for many media influencers around Chicago.
Vehicle Vibes hosted the photo booth so party goers could take pictures with their new friends in the social media world and bring home memories from the party. Marcia Hansen, Allstate social media manager, was at the event and met many social media elites.
The party was held at Sushi Samba, a hip sushi lounge in downtown Chicago. Chicagonista also honored some of Chicago’s social media elites including Sarah Evans of Sevans Strategy and Liz Strauss of SOBcon, Theresa Carter of The Local Tourist and Barbara Rozgonyi of the Social Media Club Chicago.
Social Luxe Lounge: A day after the Social Media Soiree, Allstate Vehicle Vibes and FrienderBenders.com co-sponsored the Swiffer Social Lux Lounge on July 23. The SocialLuxe Lounge was hosted by Allison Czarnecki (Petit Elefant), Jane Maynard (This Week for Dinner), Jennifer Sbranti (Hostess with the Mostess), Marie Le Baron (Make and Takes), Ciaran Blumenfeld (Momfluential) and Beth Feldman (RoleMommy).
After Allstate’s Lizzie Schreier spoke at the BlogHer Business Conference about gaining legal approval on social media initiatives, conference participants headed to the Social Luxe Lounge for a party to celebrate the achievements of BlogHer bloggers and the social media community.
In pre-publicity for the event, Make-Up Mary, the bad driving character from FrienderBenders.com reminded people not to primp and drive. Marcia Hansen, Allstate social media manager, handed out some great Vehicle Vibes non-slip pads for cell phones and some fun Friender Benders bumper stickers.
The party was a blast and Marcia met some great bloggers while hosting the make-up centers and urging women not to be a Make-Up Mary, while also sponsoring the manicure stations for Allstate. You might say these women’s hands were in good hands with Allstate.
