Showing their support for women- and minority-owned businesses, Allstate hosted their second-annual annual Supplier Diversity Exchange on Thurs. Aug. 13, a chance for these businesses to pitch their services to Allstate.
Over 100 diverse businesses from across the country filled three large conference rooms at the Allstate headquarters in Northbrook, IL and pitched their services to Allstate’s purchasing managers and leaders.
Fox Business Network [.wmv] described the conference as “a little bit like speed dating,” a chance for small businesses to have one-on-one conversations with some of Allstate’s leaders.
The Supplier Diversity Program was established to ensure the inclusion of minority, women and veteran owned businesses in the competitive bidding process at Allstate. In 2007, Allstate spent $201.8 million with minority, women and veteran owned business for a variety of services including advertising, consulting services, investment services and education and training.
Marcia Hansen, Allstate social media manager was on hand to live-tweet the event on Twitter and captured some key remarks from Allstate CEO Tom Wilson and RainbowPUSH.
